A new exhibition at London's Barbican is set to explore the importance of Britain's pirate radio stations.
Running at the performing arts centre from Sunday, 1st June until Monday, 30th June, Rebel Radio will explore the influence that pirate radio has had on UK culture and music via a series of events.
Among them are four days of special Reprezent Radio broadcasts from a purpose-built studio at Barbican, which will take in pirate radio stories and exclusive sets from the likes of Norman Jay, DJ Spoony, Ragga Twins and Logan Sama, among others.
A series of talks will also run through the month covering topics such as archiving and modern-day parties, while DJ Elijah and Rinse FM founder Geeneus will also be in conversation to discuss 30 years of Rinse and the future of pirate radio.
Rinse FM will also host a special party featuring pirate radio veterans going b2b with the new generation of DJs. The full line-up for this event will be announced at a later date.
The programme of events is rounded out by a six-part podcast series and a number of film screenings.

The exhibition forms part of Barbican's Frequencies series of events, which aim to explore "the sounds that shape us". Read DJ Mag's recent piece on another Frequencies event, exploring acid house history, here.
