Rhythm Section International has invited a star studded cast of producers to remix ‘Tastes Like Freedom’, the recent single from Melbourne jazz group 30/70.
Enlisting Chaos in the CBD, Carista, Tornado Wallace and Yu Su to put their own spin on the soulful nu-jazz track, which features lush vocals from Allysha, this remix package is a masterclass in malleability; the track's cosmic grooves and warm instrumentation can be adapted to any scenario, from a festival mainstage to the late-night after party.
From Chaos in the CBD’s typically breezy deep house interpretation and Tornado Wallace’s open-air, hands-in-the-air anthemic twist, to Yu Su’s syrupy downtempo trip hop take, each edit has its own unique charm. Below, you can hear Utrecht DJ and United Identities label boss Carista’s rework, a slow and spacious dancefloor rework the weaves slo-mo breaks and waves of bass into the track’s foundations, allowing Allysha’s vocals to soar.
‘Tastes Like Freedom: Remixed’ will be released tomorrow, 13th August. Pre-order it here.
