Breach launched his NKDLTD imprint back in March this year, marking a welcome return for the Amsterdam-based UK producer who found great acclaim in the first half of the decade with singles ‘Jack’, ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All) feat. Andreya Triana’ and ‘The Key feat. Kelis’.
‘Culture’ (NKDLTD001) found the producer – who has previously released tracks by Midland, Dark Sky and Dusky on his Naked Naked label – returning to a moodier, underground sound. Bearing similarities to the bass-lead, minimal grooves of labels like Graded and Aus Music, NKDLTD’s launch marked the first new release from the artist since 2015.
Now, Breach – real name Ben Westbeech – has announced NKDLTD002, two brand new cuts of crisp percussion, lush atmosphere and vivid textures. Opener ‘S.O.S.T.’ is a a colourful, snappy house jam with a new age flavour coursing through its synth leads.
The title track – premiering below – is a more langid affair. Humid arpeggios are lifted by breezy ambient textures and a steady hi-hat pattern. It makes for an absorbing trip evoking images of twilight scenes and happily introspective moments.
‘Turtle Dance’ drops next Friday 10th August. Pre-order it here.
