Demi Riquísimo will release a new EP, ‘Windows 95 Anthem’, today via Higher Ground. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘The Force’ below.
The Detroit-born, London-based DJ and producer continues to make waves with his headsy fusion of Italo disco, house and vintage acid, delivering two new nocturnal heaters for Higher Ground. It follows on the heels of his vinyl-only ‘Sugar Snap’ EP – released earlier this year in collaboration with Manami – as well as a string of other singles on his Semi Delicious imprint.
Armed with his assortment of vintage synths, the producer channels chunky ‘90s prog and wistful house on title track ‘Windows 95 Anthem’ whilst ‘The Force’ – which has already seen support from Job Jobse, Eliza Rose, and Peach – dips its toes into trance with irresistibly groovy synths and a bouncier tempo.
Speaking about the new two-tracker, which will soon be completed by remixes from Chloé Caillet and Spray, Riquísimo shared: “‘The Force’ mashes up '90s prog chords, M1 stabs and disco percussion along with my signature FM bassline. It sounds unusual on paper but I think it works.”
Demi Riquísimo will perform at Higher Ground’s Miami Music Week party on 21st March, alongside Maz, Luke Alessi, and Mia Moretti, plus special guests.
Yesterday, DJ Mag announced Ms. Mada as the final artist performing at our flagship Miami Pool Party 2024. The Filipino-born, Miami-raised DJ will join ANOTR, Joseph Capriati, Chloé Caillet, AQUTIE, and Louie Vega at the Sagamore Hotel on 22nd March – tickets are available here.
