Premiere: Ilk 'The Sound Of Falling'

Ilk makes his debut on Blocks & Escher's Narratives label later this month with sublime track 'The Sound Of Falling'.

Released as part of a two-tracker backed by a rowdy tech-step cut from Metalheadz alumnus SB81, ‘The Sound Of Falling’ is a masterclass in width and contrasts of pace, earning it the coveted spot of Killer of the Month in our UK September edition.

The track combines sweeping pads, drums overflowing with groove and a widescreen low-end that switches between menacingly slow and machine gun fast oscillations. The lo-fi vocal is the highlight, however, so casual and unexpected, yet oozing emotion.

Based in Brighton, Ilk himself is a star in the making. Since 2016 he's but has been on a sharp upwards trajectory thanks to releases like the rugged ‘Fours’ on Repertoire and his huge two-tracker for Warm Comms, from which both certified banger ‘The Heather’ and psychedelic slice ‘Space Dub’ have seen heavy rotation.

Pre-order the release from the Narratives Bandcamp  ahead of its release on 28th September.
