New York-based DJ, producer and vocalist Kim Anh will launch her new label, CAN U NOT TALK, this week with the release of her ‘After Dark’ EP.
With four original cuts and a remix from Alinka, the debut release on CAN U NOT TALK takes in elements of deep house, UK breakbeat and downtempo, with flourishes of ambient and acid thrown in among Anh’s distinctive vocals. From the thumping grooves of ‘House of Virgo’ and jungle-esque cover of Erikah Badu’s ‘Recovering’ to Alinka’s thoroughly Chicago house remix of the latter, it’s a strong start to the label.
