Premiere: Sobolik ‘Camille’

Turin label early reflex will celebrate its first birthday next month with the release of a new compilation.

The leftfield club imprint, run by DJ/producer Alec Pace, launched last April with a collection of cuts from the likes of Loraine James, hmurd, DJ P, Hence Therefore and more. ‘Flex002’ is the label’s second comp and fourth release overall. It’s a global affair, featuring futuristic club sounds from artists based in Berlin, Brisbane, Warsaw, New York, Milan, Tokyo, Taipei and London.

With tracks from artists including E-Talking, Tomu DJ, Lithe, Alec Pace & All Centre’s DJ P, Sabiwa and more, the compilation boasts an experimental palette, fusing elements of dancehall, techno, breaks, d&b and dubstep into a forward-thinking package that’ll do more than satisfy fans of labels like Timedance and Nervous Horizon.

Below, you can hear New York producer Sobolik’s contribution to the comp, ‘Camille’. A neon-hued cut of nimble d&b that balances its hyperkinetic beats with soft-focussed bass and melodic trills, it’s an exciting introduction to the emerging artist.

‘Flex002’ will be released on 7th May. Pre-order it here
