Syz is set to launch his Vitalizm label with a new EP, ‘VTLZM001’, landing later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Fidget’ below.
Centred around the manifesto of “club rhythms for the soul”, the imprint will combine future-facing dancefloor sounds with nods to dance music’s heritage including small vinyl runs and limited lathe-cut dubplate specials. Its inaugural release – the ‘VTLZM001’ EP – is a formidable mission statement, stitching together strands of supple garage, broken beat, house and more into four UK-inflected club heaters.
A real highlight is B1 ‘Fidget’ – premiering below – which serves up its nimble rhythms with a side of warping textures, diva vocal chops and deep, dubby basslines. Tip!
