Tamlin will release a new EP, ‘Bitter Fruit’, via Scuffed Recordings this week. Listen to ‘Diazemax’ below.
The Brighton-based DJ and producer has previously appeared on the DJ Mag Best of British nominated label as part of the duo Heritage, whose track ‘The Revelation’ is a razor-sharp cut of electro-singed breakbeat techno. Now, making his solo debut for the imprint, Tamlin demonstrates a warmer, melodic sound, mixing elements of techno, garage, dub, dancehall and breaks into a neon-hued brew that goes down easy, and leaves a lasting glow for dancefloor transcendence.
From the otherworldly melodic trills of the opening title track (which has been doing the rounds since 2020) and the deep, wobbling industrial dancehall of ‘Flutter In Blue’, to the swooping breaks and resonant keys of ‘Rush (feat. Parry)’, this EP will delight fans of the Wisdom Teeth and Livity Sound labels, and fits perfectly in the always-on-point Scuffed catalogue.
‘Diazemax’ is a nimble stepper, where alien dub flourishes and fizzy synths echo over a dusty, cosmic dembow beat.
‘Bitter Fruit’ will be released this Friday 19th August. Pre-order it here.
