Dudley Strangeways & Michael McLardy’s Leftback has long been a source of excellent house and techno fare and their latest offers more of the same. A collaboration between Strangeways and David Gtronic, ‘Dimunition’ serves up four excellent cuts, each one worth its weight in dancefloor gold. That said, we’ve plumped here for tIJN’s wonderfully crafted take on the title track.
tIJN —real name Martyn Hodgson — has been on a real roll of late, with his productions finding favour on the likes of Tania Vulcano & Tato’s ISGUD label as well as Italian label, Frole. His minimally-inclined interpretation of ‘Dimiunition’ is a spaced-out affair and indicative of the genre at its very best. Subtle but beguiling, it’s further indication of the talent of a producer we’re sure to be hearing much more of over the next while.
