TOBS is set to release a new EP, ‘No More Tears’, on Goddezz later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
Cooked-up in his bedroom in Berlin’s Neukölln district, the record – out this Friday (2nd May) – lurches from charged-up hardcore into pockets of breaks, bass and garage across three new ravey originals and a remix from Local Group.
“The hardcore continuum has always been a soft spot of mine — especially its more emotional corners,” TOBS shared on the project. “‘Finest Illusion’ by Foul Play is an all-time favourite, and I guess some of that found its way in.”
On the title track, premiering below, the Berliner counterbalances this percolating peak-time energy with cosmic melodies and dewy-eyed vocal chops for a transient dancefloor excursion.
“‘No More Tears’ is built on just eight tracks, chopped breakbeats, sentimental chords, and a mild obsession with pitched vocal hooks,” TOBS explained, “— something to warm up to, maybe.”
