As Consequence Sound pointed out, trying to explain to someone in 2012 that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were lobbying President Donald Trump to help get A$AP Rocky out prison in Sweden would be… a challenge, to say the least. Yet, here we are. And there he will stay for at least another week according to the Associated Press and TMZ. The judge presiding over the case and prosecutors agree that he is a flight risk.
Rocky has still not been charged with any crime, as investigators take their time to gather evidence and attempt to create a case against him. He’s already been in jail for more than two weeks, following a fight in Stockholm on June 30. He was jailed on July 2.
A spokesperson for the State Department said earlier this week, “There are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns. We expect all governments, including Sweden, to treat American citizens fairly and with respect. We hope to see A$AP Rocky and his colleagues back on tour and reunited with friends and family soon.”
