REPORT: Demi Lovato's Overdose Caused By… You Guessed It, Fentanyl

TMZ, who was the first to report that Demi Lovato had been , has just released a new report that claims the singer/songwriter took Oxycodone laced with fentanyl which led to the paramedics being called.

According to “sources with direct knowledge” who spoke to TMZ, Lovato called her dealer the morning July 24 following a house party in West Hollywood. The two then freebased Oxycodone, unaware that it was laced with the deadly potent drug fentanyl – the same drug that killed Prince and Lil Peep.

When Lovato appeared to be unconscious on her bed, the dealer reportedly fled.

Paramedics revived Lovato, who refused to reveal to them what drug she took, with Narcan at the scene before transporting her to a hospital. She then spent two weeks in a rehab facility.

“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” Lovato  released earlier this month. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It’s something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”

“I now need to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,” Lovato added. “The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.”
