REPORT: Sheriff Reports Burning Man Arrests

Today is the last ficial day Burning Man, even though thousands still linger on the playa. Over the past 10 days, tens thousands people swarmed to Black Rock City to create a temporary cityscape and escape from the real cities.


Police and federal ficials were also present at the event throughout its duration, leading to the arrest 43 individuals this year. Compared to last year’s 58, this year showed an improvement. The reasons for most the arrests remain to be drug possession and trafficking drugs.

“People are still leaving the playa and recovering from a week partying,” Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen said about the likelihood more arrests into the coming week. “They are trying to orient themselves and coming to terms with reality.”
