Serato announces new multi-FX plugin, Hex FX

Serato has launched a new plugin called Hex FX.

Designed as a chained, multi-FX plug that combines classic FX like delay, reverb, chorus, distortion and more, it also allows producers and engineers access to over 45 customisable effects and 100 presets.

With one master control knob to dial the FX in and out, known as The Hex, it tweaks parameters across the chained FX as you turn it left to right, rather than acting as a Dry/Wet dial. Settings like delay feedback, reverb tail etc can all be adjusted from one place, making it easier to automate and perform your effects in the DAW. There are six FX slots in total and each can be rearranged depending on your needs.

Hex FM is designed with DJs and producers in mind, combining performance style FX with more producer, sampler-orientated sounds. For example, Hex FX clones some classic sampler filters and bit crushers to give an old school hip-hop tone, while elsewhere there’s more DJ-focused FX like rolls, backspin and vinyl brake.

Serato has brought in a range of artists to create the 100-plus presets for Hex FX, including Lord Finesse, Amber Navran and Guy Lawrence of Disclosure, who said of the new plug: “I love the sounds within Hex FX, especially the pitch reverb, saturators, and slap-back tape delays — really inventive.”

Hex FX is available now for an introductory price of $99 or can be yours via a subscription to Serato Suite for $9.99 a month. Find out more on the Serato website and watch the video below for a full in-depth guide to Hex FX.
