Sister Midnight announces fundraising party for radio studio equipment

Sister Midnight has announced a fundraising party to cover the costs of new radio studio equipment. 

Running from 11PM to 4AM on Friday 29th March 2024 at The Carpet Shop, Peckham, the non-profit South East London-based collective locked a line-up headlined by Birmingham's DJ Kojay, host of the monthly OOONTS Show on Rinse FM.

Core DAYTIMERS member Rohan Rakhit will also play, alongside fellow Social Records Society selector Soph, with another Rinse head, Ri Mistry, and hip hop-nu-jazz-bass-Afro purveyor LIMI also on the bill. You can grab tickets here.

Sister Midnight have been hard at work preparing to Lewisham's first community-owned music venue in the former the Brookdale Club in Catford. With an overall aim to become a cultural hub for people in the city's South East districts, last August the team also Sister Midnight FM (SMFM) last year, 

The online radio station focuses on local artists, events, and communities, and has now been operating for seven months, with hosts including Laani, DJ Gilla, Selextorhood Collective, Last Nubian, Deptford Northern Soul Club, All Centre, Lewisham Anti-Raids and Unit 137. Proceeds from this weekend's party will go directly to funding kit needed to continue broadcasts.
