GRAMMY nominees were announced yesterday morning, including a nomination for Skrillex for “Midnight Hour” with Boys Noize featuring Ty Dolla $ign. This is his 13th GRAMMY nomination.
The producer took to social media to express his thanks to everyone who supported the track, stating “we would not be here if it wasn’t for you.” But he didn’t end the video there, as he continued, saying, “I’m just in the studio finishing my albums.”
Hang on… albums?
A Skrillex album has been rumored heavily for the past year or so, especially as he’s been ramping up new releases and getting on the road more ten. But, this is the first time we’ve ever heard a plurality albums. Frequent Skrillex event collaborators Brownies & Lemonade even noted the precise word choice in the comments, replying, “Congrats! Can’t wait for the albums,” with a devil smiling emoji.
Of course, albums doesn’t mean they’re all going to be Skrillex related. He also has Dog Blood and frequently works as a producer on other artists’ projects. Not to mention Diplo has stated the return Jack Ü could be as early as next year…
Either way, 2020 is looking to be a stellar year for Skrillex. We’ll just have to wait and see what he comes out with.
