T.Williams has announced a new EP, ‘La Cliqué’, on Local Talk. Listen to the first single below.
Set for release on 13th December, the project follows the West London DJ and producer’s debut album, ‘Raves Of Future Past’, released earlier this year. In an announcement post on Instagram, T.Williams described the new EP as a “return to dark rooms and dancefloors”, with touchstones in deep and Afro house, bassline, UK funky and more.
The EP’s debut single is out today (22nd November), featuring T.Williams’ longtime collaborator, Tendai. ‘Shake It Up’ channels the soulful sounds of the duo’s Remedy Project collaborations, with the addition of higher-energy beats and rallying vocals.
‘La Cliqué’ is out next month via Local Talk. Listen to ‘Shake It Up (feat. Tendai)’ below.
Released in February via Purple City, T.Williams described ‘Raves Of Future Past’ as “the album I wanted to make when I was 20 years old, but didn’t know how.” The science-fiction themed record paid tribute to his wide-ranging career, from his roots in grime and jungle through to spells in garage and soulful melodic house.
In a recent interview with DJ Mag’s Ben Murphy, T.Williams expanded on the freedom of expression of the early 2000s era, the difference between writing songs versus bangers, and how he made his classic track ‘Heartbeat’ with Terri Walker.
