The BBC has shared a new audio documentary on the underground club scene and activism of associated figures in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Produced and presented by reporter Frank McWeeny, the BBC World Service documentary forms the third instalment of the Global Dancefloor series, which has previously taken in episodes in Beirut and Salvador, Brazil.
Over the course of the Tbilisi episode, McWeeny speaks to activists, dancers and artists based in the Georgian city about their work amid the implementation of controversial new Russian-style foreign agent laws which have aimed to curtail the work of clubs and other cultural spaces.
McWeeny visits the club Bassiani, as well as the radio station and event space Mutant Radio, during the documentary, and also attends protests against the Georgian government.
