The Prodigy Announce New Album & Debut First Single [MUST LISTEN]

It’s been three years since the last album from The ProdigyThe Day Is My Enemy. In the time since, the group has with guitarist Rob Holliday, but they also a single by the end the year and an album in early 2018. Well, better late than never, their new album No Tourists is coming out November 2 and you can hear the first single “Need Some1” today.

“I wanted to write something that had downtempo swagger, but still felt dangerous,” says the band’s Liam Howlett, introducing the single alongside an explosive video shot in Manila by Paco Raterta. “After being sent loads pedestrian video director showreels, Paco’s style stood out and punched me in the face: just so raw and original-looking, I knew he was the man for us. The finished video has such violent edge and style and looks like nothing else we have seen – to us it’s only worth doing a video if you can make something original and exciting, which this is.”

“Need Some1” sort jolts The Prodigy fans back from the dead as they present a more raw and exciting side to their sound. The music video too, like Howlett notes, is intense and violent and draws upon the group’s original influences from Fat the Land days.

Howlett explains that all the songs on their new album, including “Need Some1,” are “built to play live,” so expect tour dates to follow toward the end the year. In the meantime, you can catch The Prodigy playing festivals across Europe this summer.
