Two Shell surprise release new album, ‘IICONS’: Listen

Two Shell have released a new album titled 'IICONS'. Listen to lead track 'Doom Culture', featuring Dorian Electra,  below.

The new 12-track LP, which the London duo describes as "a collection of tunes that have been in our shows the last year", was released with little notice aside from a vague mention at the end of a 3rd July Instagram post. The mysterious act announced "the end of a chapter", in reference to performing on stage themselves for the first time recently at Block9's flagship Glastonbury set IICON, which inspired the new album's title.

"Anonymity sometimes feels like a mistake", they wrote. "When people message us saying, 'We know it wasn’t you up there! Classic!!', it feels sad. The intention was never to troll. It was to question what we are, and whether it matters."

Two Shell released the recording of their Glastonbury set on YouTube last week. "Over the years many people have asked us when will we play IICON, and what feels like from unexpected circumstances and with the passion of some incredible people, we were invited to play this year... in a perfect slot and thankfully, just before the fallow", they said earlier this month. "Iit was us, and we put our hearts and minds into it. Over the next couple of weeks we hope to show it."

Out now on Young Records, 'IICONS' includes contributions from Daigos on 'as the world bleeds', via Pitchfork.

This is Two Shell's first LP since their self-titled debut, released this past October. Earlier this year, they shared the single 'Oops'. Their 2024 singles include 'gimmi it' and 'Talk To Me' with fka twigs. In 2023, they released the EPs 'lil spirits' and 'ghost2'.
