Your EDM Premiere: WHITE LIGHT – Memories ft. Chèlise

One the perks my job is being introduced to new artists who have serious talent but haven’t had the fortune being truly “discovered” yet. One such artist just sent to me was Calgary’s Brandon Linkewich, known to the dance music community as White Light, who has paired up with vocalist Chèlise for his next single, “Memories.”

There are so many elements to “Memories” that make it a phenomenal song, it’s hard to figure out where to start first. The first thing you hear in the song is Chèlise’s voice, so perhaps that’s a good place to start. With quiet and subtle arpeggiated piano notes filling the void by Chèlise’s side, the volume slowly swells and builds until the suspenseful drum pattern comes in.

The drop comes in, a blend big room and ’80s synths that pairs massive horns with a bouncy and energetic rhythm. It’s absolutely infectious, and you’ll find yourself bobbing your head unconsciously, your body naturally in tune to the rhythm.

“Chèlise and I met at work, and I noticed her always singing in the back room. She has never sang publicly, so this is my way to help get her amazing voice out there.” — White Light
