Indira Paganotto and Joseph Capriati will release a new collaborative two-tracker, ‘Mantra’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Ananda’ below.
Fresh from the cover of DJ Mag’s May print issue, Spanish ‘Psy-Mama’ Indira Paganotto teams up with current DJ Mag North America cover star Joseph Capriati for the star-studded link-up. ‘Mantra’ marks the eleventh release on Paganotto’s burgeoning ARTCORE imprint, following her April solo EP ‘Gipsy Queen’, and debut ARTCORE show in Miami, which took place in March, and kicked off her 10-date global tour.
The new EP – out this Thursday (13th June) – features a duo of mystical cuts laden with signature sonics from both artists, kicking off with the marching techno of ‘Ananda’. Here, Capriati’s thumping kicks and hi-def percussive grooves are paired with symphonic vocal chops and gritty LFO leads from Paganotto, making for a release packed full of adrenaline highs.
Elsewhere, the title track leans further into the ‘Psy’ sound on which Paganotto built her empire, with spidery synth melodies, tripped-out vocals, and some seriously burly low-end.
Further ARTCORE shows in 2024 will take place in Barcelona, during OFFSónar, Istanbul, Madrid, London, New York, Rome, Amsterdam, Belgrade and Puglia. She will joined on tour by guests including Ben Klock, Chris Liebing and Kobosil, with more still to be announced.
It’s also shaping up to be a huge year for Capriati, who is back at Amnesia Ibiza every Friday from July 19th till September 6th with his Metamorfosi show. Throughout the residency, Paganotto will hold down Amnesia’s Main Room with her distinctive sets that take in ’90s disco through to underground techno, alongside a host of curated guests.
“Honestly, I am humbled by the trust and support I have received from Joseph Capriati throughout the years,” Paganotto shared on the link-up. “I have so much gratitude towards him. This really feels like a family project and I couldn't be prouder to be joining forces again.”
