Throttle Drops Stunning EP "Where U Are" on Monstercat [Premiere]

Earlier this summer, Australian DJ/Producer Throttle released a new single on Monstercat called “Dreamer.” The song was a marked departure from his signature disco influenced sound; all combined with some slick new anime art, and it certainly seemed like a new era was on the horizon for Throttle. That new era is finally here, and it comes in the form a new seven-track EP Where U Are. Where U Are is, quite simply, a beautiful collection music. A showcase for a versatile producer creating a dream-like narrative while pushing his sound in exciting new directions.

There’s progressive house, melodic bass, future house, pop, even a little bit happy hardcore. Two tracks have already been released f the EP, “Dreamer” and “Japan.” The next single, the title track “Where U Are,” is set to be the latest theme song for Rocket League. It’s frenetic pacing, computer-y synths, and filtered vocals make it a perfect fit for the uber-popular video game. My personal favorite track might be “For Me,” it has an anthemic drop and some really cool Eric Prydz-like synths that give it a groove to go along with the uplifting synth melodies.

Where U Are focuses on themes surrounding dreams and the worlds we create in our minds, so it’s fitting that Throttle is embarking upon this new musical journey with Monstercat, the label where he first released when he was a 14 year old bedroom producer. Robbie will also be teaming up with Rocket League’s developer Psyonix to create a short Anime film to help bring the film’s narrative to life. Here’s what Robbie had to say about Where U Are.

“I can’t put into words how proud I am Where U Are. I created the EP as a start to finish listening experience, sonically unlike anything I’ve ever done. I hope you enjoy!”
