Coming up on Sunburn‘s hopeful return to Goa, #BanSunburn has been trending in India. It seems there are many protesters out there who believe the electronic music festival is a sure gateway to drug use.
The fest, set to take place on December 27 – 29, has experienced a rough few years. Following the 2016 installment, the festival was relocated from Goa to Pune, a city nearly 300 miles away. And the issues only continued to accumulate in 2017 and 2018.
This it’s the first time the #BanSunburn hashtag has been used either. Some the tweets date back to 2017. If you feel so moved to speak your opinion either way on the issue, now would be the time.
With The Chainsmokers, Flume, Martin Garrix, and many more leading electronic acts on the lineup, this could be Sunburn’s year to bounce back. That is, if the #BanSunburn movement subsides.

I see #bansunburn trending in my TL (god only knows why) .. cos increasing drug use cases it seems … that is so ridiculous..
Sunburn or lack there is not an excuse exclusively to consume whatever ppl consume whenever they want to consume. Spoiling Indian culture it seems

Woke up to see ban sunburn trending today and it's funny to see that the only people advocating #Bansunburn are non Goans and communal groups leave it upto us guys ? we need no dictators.
