Carl Cox has said his Ibiza residency at [UNVRS] will be a "whole new world", ahead of taking over Sundays at Ibiza’s new “hyperclub” this summer.
"We have this opportunity to work at a new club," he told DJ Mag. "Because nobody knows what's going to happen there at all, it feels that we've got a pioneering spirit again to go back in. Did I want to go back to Ibiza? Yeah, absolutely. 100%. Do people want me to go back? Absolutely. 100%. We're not done yet.
"I know that I've still got a lot of water in my well. I'm going to be really excited to be there for the opening party, and then for my own opening, which is on 22nd June. It's a whole new world of me going back to Ibiza at [UNVRS]."
Cox announced his [UNVRS] residency in January. It opens on 22nd June and runs through to 21st September. Full line-ups are set to be announced.
The UK DJ and producer premiered his new Evolution live show on the RESISTANCE Mega Structure at Ultra Music Festival on last month (29th March).
"I would love to do a full Carl Cox live show in Ibiza," he added. "It's never been done before. I think people would be quite excited to see it. I will always say never say never. Let me settle in first, and then, if it feels like we could do something with the platform for it: absolutely."
Cox also recently relaunched his Intec label. The techno imprint, which was founded in 1998 and ran until its hiatus in 2020, re-emerged earlier this month (April) with a new EP from Toronto-born producer Carlo Lio and Italian producer M.I.T.A.
