Ekali was scheduled to perform at Club Europe in St. Louis last night, but ultimately ended up having to cancel the show due to the allegedly unpressional and threatening actions the venue staff and security.
The Canadian producer chronicled the events the night on Twitter, beginning, “I came in quite sick, was shoved around behind the booth, staff tried to jump my tour manager. I don’t play when I don’t feel like me and my team are safe. After this video he threatened to shoot me in the face. Fuck this shit.”
St. Louis, I’m sorry I won’t be performing tonight. I came in quite sick, was shoved around behind the booth, staff tried to jump my tour manager. I don’t play when I don’t feel like me and my team are safe. After this video he threatened to shoot me in the face. Fuck this shit pic.twitter.com/VV8r0hHdqs

He also attempted to open the door and assault us once we were in the car. Im sorry to those I disappointed, I’ll be back soon in a venue not ran by thugs

Eventually, apparently one the security guards, going by @MRGoliath on Twitter, responded to Ekali and fered an alternative perspective to the story, but deleted the below tweet.
I didn’t say a single word in the DJ booth. I can barely speak cause I’m sick and swollen. I saw violence, I said I’m leaving. I’m in the parking lot leaving. we get rushed by 6 people. Im not hard, I’m a Canadian kid getting his job done. Not here to get my “brains blown out” https://t.co/OUNycyUBu4

Still, many his tweets remain, including the one below, to which he challenges Ekali to prove “we said he gon get shot in the face.”
I have 4 neutral witnesses, since you stole my property and shut it f right before it was said

In fact I was so shocked you said it I asked you if that’s what you said, and you said yeah we’re gonna blow your brains out. Then you said the same to my guests when they went to get their Uber.

To clarify I’m talking about the venue. The promoters were very helpful. But this place is 10/10 unsafe. We had every single security guard rush us. Off to bed happy no one got hurt

Ekali promised to make it back to the city to play eventually, saying, “I’m sorry to those I disappointed, I’ll be back soon in a venue not ran by thugs.”
