Amy Dabbs & Coco Bryce are set to return with the second instalment of their collaborative EP series, ‘Slightly Involved Vol. 2’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Lust Issues’ below.
The project – landing this Friday (12th April) – finds the duo reworking four tracks previously released on their own imprints, Dabbs Traxx & Myor, through the lens of their own unique production styles. On the A-side, Dabbs flips two of Bryce’s jungle cuts into pacey club heaters, utilising drum patterns she coded completely from scratch, whilst Bryce serves up jungle revisions of ‘Ghosts’ (now ‘Banshee’) and ‘Til You See’ (now ‘Still You See’) – taken from the former’s first EP on Dabbs Traxx – and crafted using punchy layered breaks.
Though the whole EP oozes playful rave energy, it’s Dabbs’ synth-powered rework of ‘Trust Issues’ – aptly titled ‘Lust Issues’ – that steals the show. We can’t wait to hear this one on big outdoor systems this summer.
‘Slightly Involved Vol. 2’ marks only the second ever release on Dabbs Traxx, following the label head’s own ‘Four Track Mind’ EP, released back in 2022. Since then, Dabbs has dropped music on tastemaker labels including Heist Recordings and Shall Not Fade, as well as linking up with Athlete Whippet for a shimmering three-tracker on Simple Records/AUS Music.
‘Slightly Involved Vol. 2’ is out 12th April via Dabbs Traxx. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Lust Issues’ below.
