Kohra will release his long-awaited debut album later this month.
The New Delhi-based electronic artist, who also founded and runs imprint Qilla Records, follows up a string of releases and remixes for the likes of Endangered and Traum with his new LP, ‘akhõ’.
Inspired by a seventeenth century Gujarati poet of the same name, the ten tracks on ‘akhõ’ traverse genres and sounds, moving from hard electro to breaks-infused cuts as Kohra draws together his broad range of influences in one slick package.
On 'Akarshan', glowing ambience paves the path for heavy percussion and drawn-out pads, before soft synth stabs and more layered drums transform the track into an early-morning club tool.
