Lyas will release their debut EP, ‘Lazos’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Todo Nos Lleva’ below.
The Buenos Aires-based duo – comprising Catriel Nievas and Sáccea – traverse a luminous palette of ambient and shoegaze on their inaugural release, arriving via independent Argentinian imprint, Nodo. Sculpted to evoke “sensory states of stillness and contemplation”, ‘Lazos’ coalesces velvety guitar lines and diaristic vocals with a selection of samples, textures, and field recordings across its four-track runtime.
From the lobe-tickling rhythms and undulating drones of ‘Todo Nos Lleva’, to the luminous synthwork of ‘Salinas’ and ‘Misiones’, this is a project destined to take listeners to the depths of their inner consciousness.
‘Lazos’ is the latest release on Buenos Aires’ Nodo label. Founded in 2018, the imprint is home to experimental sounds coming out of the Argentinian capital and beyond, with releases including the debut EP from Cimarrón, ‘Sin Cara, Sin Nombre’, and Amarhac’s futuristic ‘Asplenium’ project.
‘Lazos’ is out 22nd May via Nodo. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Todo Nos Lleva’ below.
