Soshi Takeda will release a new album, ‘Floating Mountains’, via 100% Silk this week. Hear the ‘Lantern Reflection’ below.
The Tokyo, Japan-based producer delivers seven tracks of gorgeous, light balearic house on his second album, his debut for the Los Angeles label. The release will be available digitally and on limited edition cassette, and is inspired by a mid-80’s photography book of Chinese landscapes.
The album, a transportive collection of hazy melodies, crisp beats, bass grooves and new age flourishes, was recorded entirely using hardware synths and samplers from the ‘90s. Speaking about the release, Takeda simply said: “I hope you can feel the cool and exotic atmosphere.”
Below, you can hear ‘Lantern Reflection’, one of the album’s more upbeat moments: a cut of bouncing cosmic house brimming with lush synths.
‘Floating Mountains’ will be released this Friday 8th October. Pre-order it here.
