UK duo Wayward have invited a cast of producers to remix their 2021 debut LP, ‘Waiting For The World’.
The 11-track remix album features reworks from an array of established and emerging artists at the cutting edge of their field of dance music, including Tim Reaper, Kareem Ali, BAE BAE, 1-800 GIRLS and Kilig. Unperson, Cameo Blush, System Olympia, Tour-Maubourg and Eliza Rose also contribute to the release, with each artist putting their own distinctive spin on Wayward’s atmospheric breaks and blissed-out melodic techno.
You can hear London DJ, producer and vocalist Eliza Rose’s silky two-step reimagining of ‘Thirty Three’, a dusk sun hued deep house track, below. The original mix was described by Wayward as a coming of age track about the fear of not knowing where you ought to be in life. The duo worked alongside Rose on the remix, rewriting the track with her lush vocals.
Speaking about the remix LP, Wayward said: “It was important for the remixes to reflect the broad spectrum of genres that influenced the album, and we're really pleased to have achieved this. From Tim Reaper’s jungle remix to Tour-Marbourg’s stripped down, dubby, balearic remix, and all the different styles in between, it’s given us the opportunity to shout about artists who are just starting their careers, as well as the more established ones that we really admire - all of which are pushing the boundaries and taking electronic music to an exciting place.”
‘Waiting For The World Remixed’ will be released on 25th February via Silver Bear Recordings. Pre-order it here.
