Byron The Aquarius will make his solo debut on Steven Julien’s Apron Records next month.
The Birmingham, Alabama-based house innovator will release the 10-track ‘Apron EP’ on 11th September. It’s a typically varied and futuristic affair, weaving elements of deep house, hip-hop and jazz-funk into a freewheeling and refreshingly live package. With stylistic nods to everyone from Herbie Handcock to Frankie Knuckles, the EP follows Byron’s ‘What up Doe? Vol.1’ on Shall Not Fade from May, and his stunning 2019 debut LP ‘Astral Travelling’.
‘Let Go (Sunshine)’ presents one of the release’s livelier moments, with loose bass grooves and luxurious keys drifting on top of a robust deep house beat. Check it out below.
