Bristol’s Pressure Dome label launches its new 10” series this month with a release from Paris' Design Default.
After a year that saw it bag a Breakthrough Label nomination at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards, as well as release its third charity compilation and launch a new international comp series, Design Default’s ‘Takama-ga-hara’ marks Pressure Dome’s debut physical release.
Like the rest of Pressure Dome’s catalogue, Design Default’s EP is a genre-meshing blend of techno, house and bassy sounds from across the continuum. Funky, percussive grooves, somersaulting breakbeats and swooping basslines underpin a keen sense of melody and sound design. Busy club rhythms are embellished with layers of luminous melody, adding a touch of magic to these dancefloor tools. Dublin’s Sputnik One also contributes a typically quick, headsy remix.
